What age range is this curriculum for?

This program has been crafted specifically for ages 3 – 6 years of age. However, that’s a general guideline and can be used for kids in elementary development.

Minding Melodies is designed to be adaptable for diverse learners, including those with IEPs, sensory needs or varying developmental levels. Our lessons include accommodations to help every child engage.

The curriculum was developed for a sequential format. Therefore, it is necessary to start at Module One because each module builds upon the previous lesson.

Alright, so here’s the vibe for ages 3 to 6: in the preoperational stage, their minds are quick. Imagination’s poppin’, vocab’s growin’ fast, and their hands are learning fine motor skills that’ll last. We drop the basics – letters, numbers, feelin’ words – layin’ down the foundation, so their minds fly like birds.

They’re startin’ to feel others’ emotions, catchin’ the groove, learnin’ right from wrong, and how to make smooth moves. This preoperational stage is golden and bright – teach ’em now, and watch their future take flight.

Minding Melodies is aligned with the National Core Music Standards to support musical skill-building and creative expression, while also integrating key Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) competencies such as self-awareness, self-regulation, and responsible decision-making. In addition, the program supports PBIS frameworks by promoting positive behavior, routine-building, and classroom engagement through music, movement, and rhythm. This multi-layered approach ensures that children are developing both artistic and life skills in an inclusive, joyful learning environment.

Yes, All movement-based activities are adaptable for special need students.  Activities can be modified for student diverse physical, sensory and cognitive needs. Instructions are delivered in multiple formats – visual, verbal and musical cues – to support a range of learning profiles. The program includes accommodations and is flexible enough to align with IEP goals and ABA strategies.
